Why Rapeseed Wax?
Wax is the main ingredient in By Nala aromatherapy candles, so we carefully considered different types of waxes, ensuring they matched our brand sustainability and eco-friendly ethos. We researched many options and decided Rapeseed wax was the ideal sustainable wax for us.
By Nala made the conscious decision to use Rapeseed wax over other candle waxes such as Soy, Coconut and Palm as not only do they have much larger carbon footprint, these waxes have been linked to deforestation due to the high demand for products like candles.
Rapeseed wax is a natural wax derived from Rapeseed plants, you may have seen it in beautiful fields of yellow in the summer months. Grown in the UK and Europe, it is the more sustainable choice with a lower carbon footprint that other imported waxed. It is biodegradable, free from animal products or GMO markers and harmless to wildlife, in fact Bee’s love it and it’s one of the first farmed crops that Bee’s can thrive off!
When used for candle making, it is a softer wax that burns cleanly and retains essential oil aromas for longer, making it the perfect choice for our aromatherapy range.
